The Global Light GT1 is capable of well over 120mph, enabling it to complete a lap of the Snetterton race circuit in just 1 Minute 10 seconds (by comparison the lap record for a Vauxall Astra in the Britsh Touring Car series was 1minute 11seconds).

The core of the Global GT Lights car is a purpose designed and built racing chassis, constructed from box tubular steel. This is mated to a 2006 1000cc Yamaha R1 DOHC 4-cylinder 20-valve motorcycle engine, pushing out aroun 175 BHP, and integral 6-speed sequential gearbox. Suspension is double wishbone front and rear Öhlins dampers, coil over springs.

The Global GT Lights Championship was taken over by Graham Hathaway Engineering in 1999, and has since gone from strength to strength.

Global GT Lights is a fast growing sport with a loyal and enthusiastic following. It is considered an entry level into GT car racing and is the showcase for new and emerging talent.
